Frequently Asked Questions
What Does A Collection Agency Do ?
A collection agency makes repeated
contact with a debtor by mail and phone until either the
debtor pays or it becomes apparent that a lawyer is
needed. We will make the arrangements to find the right
lawyer for you who will take the case on a contingent
basis, if need be. Then your only responsibility is
court costs and sheriff’s fees ,which are nominal.
When do you know you need a collection agency ?
If 90 days go by after your first
bill and nothing is received, it is time to be
concerned.
If bills are mailed and the envelope comes back,"
addressee unknown" or " moved left no forwarding address
". you must act. If the check bounces and no substitute
payment is received,
you must do something !
I have a judgment that I cannot collect. Will you
help me ?

My claim is several years old. Is it still
collectible ?
This depends on the laws of your
state. In Massachusetts, for example, it is possible to
sue on claims as old as six years. Judgments are good
for 20 years here, but we’ll investigate the claims for
you in any state or country and get action going !
